Description

Varietal: 40% Riesling, 15% Muskateller, 15% Müller-Thurgau, 15% Bacchus, 15% Scheurebe

Special blend of grapes harvested in Kobern, Northern Mosel, Germany and selected with the specific intention of producing alcohol-free wine. Harvested early (when ripeness is at Kabinett, or off-dry level) after carefully monitoring sugar content to produce a low-alcohol base wine. Fermented in stainless steel tanks under temperature control.

Alcohol is gently removed through single-pass vacuum distillation, which lowers the boiling point of alcohol and allows the alcohol to slowly and gently evaporate while ensuring the wine retains its natural aroma and character. Finally, sugar is adjusted to achieve balance prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: Juicy flavors reminiscent of peach and apple, sprinkled with the typical slate minerality of the Mosel Valley. Straightforward and refreshing, it is slightly sweet with crisp, balanced acidity.

Petit Philippe N/A Review: The Riesling-dominant blend gives this high-quality non-alcoholic sparkling a rich mouth-feel and texture that still maintains the bright acidity and crisp minerality the Mosel region is known for. While it does have a light natural sweetness, it's still a very balanced, dry representation of the Blanc de Blancs style with refreshing bubbles that make this an elegant N/A alternative.

About Von SchleinitzVon Schleinitz was founded in 1892 by the Hähn family, who trace their wine making history back to 1648. In 1991, Konrad Hähn took over as winemaker from his father. The Hähn family sold the estate in 2018, but Konrad Hähn still consults with the winery’s current winemaker, Martin Gerlach. Although VS is not officially certified, the wines are produced organically and sustainably. The estate has 30 acres of vines including several plots in the Uhlen and Weissenberg Grand Crus. All vineyard work and harvesting is done by hand.
