Newfound 'Gravels' Red Rhone Blend 2022
Description
#7 in Our Top 10 Wines of 2024!
This red has the elegance and fragrance of a Grenache while showing the density and richness of a Carignan, a perfect blend that is elevated by the touch of Mourvèdre for that mid palate richness and depth. An expressive Rhone blend that over-delivers, making it an everyday Red meant for any occasion.
-
Varietal: 64% Grenache, 22% Carignane, 14% Mourvèdre
Each varietal was vinified individually and blended just prior to bottling. 100% whole cluster with light to medium extraction emphasizing nuance and aromatics. Aged 18 months in their respective vessels. No fining or filtration.
-
Tasting Notes: Bright aromatics, luxardo cherry, sage, dried rose petal. The palate maintains its red fruit intensity and carries through with supple mid-palate that’s more linear than broad. We suggest serving this bottling at cellar temperature or with a slight chill.

About Newfound: Newfound Wines is a manifestation of a shared passion for wine and discovery between Matt and Audra Naumann—wine industry veterans and an agriculturally-motivated family. In 2016, they founded a 40-acre ranch, vineyard, and winery in California’s Sierra Foothills to establish a legacy for their family and realize their dream of becoming first generation grape growers and independent wine producers.
Newfound focuses on nature-led farming that informs the winemaking process. They have an individualistic approach to create authentic wines that contain a naturally rugged edge and, most importantly, captures the voice of their vineyards.
