Description
Varietal: Single clone Chardonnay from the mid 1980s from 3 Sonoma Coast vineyards from which Kistler bottle single vineyard examples: Vine Hill, Trenton Roadhouse and Dutton Ranch. Barrel fermented and aged on the lees in 25% new three year air-dried French oak barrels for 11 months, after which time it is transferred to stainless steel tank for another three months of aging before bottling.
Tasting Notes: Rich, complex aroma of perfect ripe fruit with a delicious and pleasing Meursault-like style. The palate is complex with lemon, melon, and vanilla notes. The crisp acidity highlights the fruit. It is richly textured with a long, lingering finish.
