Description

Varietal: 100% Syrah

Grown from 20+ year old vines planted in the granite soil of Lieu-dit "Montagnon sur Mauves" at 180 m. Using reasonned and sustainable agriculture, grapes are 100% destemmed with pigeage (punch-downs) for 18 days and aged for 1-6 years in 50/50 barrels and stainless steel.

Tasting Notes: This "Sortilège" Saint-Joseph has a rich and complex bouquet of dark fruit, black pepper, and a hint of smoked meat. On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated with flavors of black cherry, cassis, and a touch of oak. The mid-palate is well-structured with firm tannins and a lively acidity that enhances the fruit. The finish is long and satisfying, with notes of licorice and a touch of minerality. This wine is perfect for pairing with grilled meats, stews, or aged cheeses.
