RALL - Cinsault Blanc 2023

• Tasting Notes: The only Cinsault Blanc produced in the world, its fruit comes from a unique, natural mutation in a 0.2 hectacre plot of old bush vine Cinsault. A floral, white peach & cirtrus aroma. Great line of acidity and pithy texture with a slightly saline finish. Savory, linear, and beautifully textured, this singular wine is as equally delightful as it is rare. 
  

RALL - Grenache Blanc 2023

• Tasting Notes: Stony and intense, with flavors of green olive, lime and aniseed, crunchy acidity and a lingering finish. A hint of flinty reduction before peach, apricot and pineapple. Rich and concentrated on the palate with tangy acidity and a savory finish. Great depth of flavor with more texture than previous years.

RALL - "Ava" Chenin Blanc 2023

• Tasting Notes: Named after his daughter, Ava, this Chenin Blanc is rich and expressive. On the nose, notes of yellow fruit, citrus and hay. The rich palate of dense fruit features peach, orange, and hints of ginger, backed by coated acidity and a pithy, almost bitter finish typical of old-vine Chenin from Swartland.

• Tasting Notes: The 2023 has lots of layers and some beautiful red fruit with crunchy, coated tannins from the stems and fresh acidity to bring the balance. No doubt their most serious Cinsault offering to date. Already drinking beautifully, but will certainly benefit from some time in the bottle.

About Donovan Rall: One of Swartland's original "garagista" producers, Donovan Rall is a key figure in South Africa's explosive New Wave movement and produces some of the country's most highly sought-after wines. Donovan founded his boutique label in 2008, finding inspiration in the Mediterranean varietals thriving in the Swartland after traveling the globe to hone his craft.

Rall's vision to create wines reflecting the unique terroir of South Africa focuses on low-intervention, small-batch winemaking that uses fruit from some of the oldest, most distinctive vineyards in Swartland and Stellenbosch. The production is intentionally limited, never exceeding 1000 cases, making these wines as rare as they are exceptional.
