RALL Wines Cinsault Blanc 2023
Description
The 7th vintage of the Rall Cinsault Blanc continues to be the first and only of its kind.
-
Varietal: 100% Cinsault Blanc.
Farmed from an old-vine Cinsault plot planted in 1989 that naturally mutated into a white variant. Whole bunch pressed and transferred straight to amphora to ferment and mature on its primary lees until bottling at around 8 months.
-
Tasting Notes: A floral nose with white peach & cirtrus aromas. The palate is tightly wound with a great line of acidity and pithy texture. The finish has nice salinity that begs for another sip. More linear and savory qualities than past vintages that is a delight to drink now, but should also gain lovely texture/complexity over the next 5 years.

About Donovan Rall: One of Swartland's original "garagista" producers, Donovan Rall is a key figure in South Africa's explosive New Wave movement and produces some of the country's most highly sought-after wines. Donovan founded his boutique label in 2008, finding inspiration in the Mediterranean varietals thriving in the Swartland after traveling the globe to hone his craft.
Rall's vision to create wines reflecting the unique terroir of South Africa focuses on low-intervention, small-batch winemaking that uses fruit from some of the oldest, most distinctive vineyards in Swartland and Stellenbosch. The production is intentionally limited, never exceeding 1000 cases, making these wines as rare as they are exceptional.
