Coralie Goumarre, the 9th generation, is at the helm of the family winery since 1995. Coralie is known for making a more delicate style of red Châteauneuf. Drinks like a fine Burgundy, but with the typicity of its birthplace- the village of Courthézon.

Description

An elegant example of Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge from the ninth generation of Galèvan family winemakers. Coralie Galèvan is the first woman to take charge of the family estate in its centuries of history. Before her and her parents, Jean-Pierre and Pierrette, and her ancestors left their mark on the estate. This wine has all of the rich, savoryness that we love from a CndP Rouge.

WoW Factor: When Coralie took over her family's winery in 1995, she was the first and only woman to sit at the head of a winery in Châteauneuf-du-Pape!

-

Varietal: 80% Grenache & 20% Mourvedre

from 55-year-old vines grown on estate vineyards at the north end of Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. 100% destemmed grapes with traditional vinification in concrete vats. No addition of SO2 during vinification. Aged for 15 months in 228L barrels with no fining or filtration when bottling.

Tasting Notes: With a deep crimson color, this wine offers notes of candied fruits, scrubland and spices on the nose. The palate is ample and unctuous, with both freshness and aromatic persistence. Red plums, raspberries, cherries and strawberries are found on the palate, followed by a slight woodiness on the back end. This wine has the potential to age gracefully in cellar.
