Domaine Régnard 'Grand Régnard' Chablis 2020
Description
Varietal: 100% Chardonnay
During the harvest, all the grapes are handpicked from 30+ year old vines in the best plots and most idyllic locations. Aged for 6 to 8 months in 100% stainless steels vats with full malolactic fermentation. The wine is then filtered before bottling, which is modeled after an old 17th century bottle.
Tasting Notes: A yellow color with green highlights. A fruity bouquet both expressive and reminiscent of white fruit (peaches) supported with mineral notes. The palate is fresh and superbly balanced between fat and acidity. The finish is mineral and gourmand.
About Domaine Regnard: Régnard, one of the oldest and most prestigious houses in Chablis, was founded by Zéphir Régnard in 1860. In 1984, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette purchased Régnard and has perpetuated the style and tradition of the wines. In 1992, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette created the Grand Régnard, a special cuvée presented in a unique bottle, a selection of the best Chablis plots of the House. This cuvée is, each year, the expression of the youth and fruit of Chablis.
Since 1992, Philippe Rossignol has led the winemaking at Régnard, helping define the house style along the way: fruit purity, freshness, balance, and minimal use of oak (if any).
