Description

Varietal: 76% Zinfandel | 11% Carignan | 5% Petite Syrah | 4% Grenache | 3% Cinsault | 1% Other

Though typically a 100% Zinfandel wine, the 2022 vintage features a blend with additional Bedrock varietals also traditionally blended with Zinfandel in order to balance the deep fruit weight, richness and ripeness from some of their lots due to a heat wave.

Grapes are sourced from over a dozen ranches in the Central and Northern coasts of California, achieving an average vine age of 80+ years.

Tasting Notes: The truly old vines produce a deep fruit weight and richness, and the resulting blend shows off freshness, wonderful fruit tones, spice, and pepper laden perfume built around a core of flat-out delicious fruit character. This wine entices with its enticing aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and brambly wild berries, complemented by hints of spice and black pepper. On the palate, it reveals a rich and full-bodied texture, with layers of dark fruit flavors, velvety tannins, and a touch of oak. The wine showcases a long and satisfying finish that lingers on the palate. This one should be a great crowd-pleaser!

About Bedrock Wine Co.: Bedrock Wine Co. was started in 2007 by Morgan Twain-Peterson. Working out of a small converted chicken coop in a friend’s backyard, Morgan focused on making personality-filled wines wrought from a small array of thoughtfully farmed vineyards. Over time the chicken coop and its outdoor fermenters and tiny basket press gave way to production at another friend’s winery and eventually to the “elegant” tin-sided warehouse that is now called home. In addition, after six years of working alone the winery welcomed Chris Cottrell as a partner-in-crime along with a small, dedicated staff of highly decent human beings.
