Description

The first Blanc de Noirs made at the joined Gimonnet-Gonet estate, L'Etonnet is an exceptional representation of the Blanc de Noir style and excellent value for an entry Grower Champagne.

-

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir

The fruit undergoes two presses - vertical, then pneumatic - before each parcel is vinified separately in stainless steel vats and later blended together. All cuvées see a minimum of 3 years sur lie, and are disgorged six months prior to release. Dosage: 5 g/L

-

Tasting Notes: The harmonious cuvee impresses with a fine mousse with noble aromas of brioche and red fruits. On the palate it flows with notes of ripe pear, baked apple, citrus, cherry, and brioche - L'Etonnant is full-bodied yet elegant.

About Gimonnet-Gonet: Born into two families of vignerons, it is perhaps not surprising that Anne and Philippe Gimonnet decided to folow in the footsteps of their ancestors and in 1986 the first bottles of Champagne Gimonnet-Gonet were created. Since then their sole objective has been to produce champagnes of the highest possible quality. In 2012 they were joined by their son, Charles, who shares the same commitment and desire to continue what was started many decades ago by previous generations of the family. Gimonnet-Gonet is now managed by twins Charles (overseeing viticulture) and Anne-Sophie (winemaking).
